Not sure where this post is going, so I guess I'll just blather on, prepare for disorder.

Anyways, I speak tonight at church, not looking forward to it. I need to rewrite my lesson. It's totally different from my public speaking experience so I'm a little bit nervous.

Erin's stepdad, Kevin, heard about positive changes in our relationship from Erin's mom. He goes ticked off about stuff that's in teh past and yelled at me for awhile. I didn't just sit there and I ended up taking words out of his mouth. This is mostly due to the fact that Erin's mom mediated a conversation between teh two of us a week ago and it's been settled, or so I thought.

Anyways, not up to explaining it for a 4th time.

Good news, my PopSci subscription came in today, and I always read it cover to cover. Now if I only had enough money for all of the cool gadgets >;).

I got a copy of the remastered Back in Black. The new work on it sounds FANTASTIC, I highly recommend it if you're missing the essential album for your collection

We all pitched in for a guitar for JEsus's birthday. We managed to find hte prettiest little Fender acoustic. If it's a fake, I congratulate the fakers on making a fantastic guitar.
Jesus has since named it Render.

The news lately has been worrying. It seems everyone in the mid-east has decided that they're lost their minds. The hostilities between Lebanon and Israel are definitely at a bad time, not to mention the missile tests in North Korea. I wouldn't be suprised if we have another major war on our hands, not like the military operation Iraq is, but a serious war.

Anyways, enough procrastinating, I need to get to writing.

I still wish I brought my guitar today.

Strange things afoot in the daily paper...

I was reading our Abilene Distorter News from a couple days ago when I found the following in the comics:

Sally Forth:
Dad- "What's this I hear about you guys fighting?"
Girl- "You wouldn't understand, Dad."
Dad- "Come on. Try me."
Girl- "Faye's trying to turn our band into a darkwave, EBM, Ambient, Shoegazing, Industrial Metal group!"
Dad- "I... I have no ideahow to respond to that.
Girl- "I'm sorry, but this is as goth as I'm gonna get!"

Amazing that mainstream media actually didn't butcher the culture for once :-p.

Lots of stuff happening....

I know, I've been neglecting my journal, I'm a horrible person.

Ok, as an update. I'm working for the city pools as a lifeguard and I love my job. It involves some unpleasant tasks, but it pays fairly well, it matters, and it's honest work.

Let's see... I also have been playing guitar a lot more, and my fingers hurt. I just made it through the first part of the beginning guitar book and I'm getting ahold of more source material to practice on. I really REALLY want the Smashing Pumpkins tab booklet.

I also went to camp a little more than a week ago and I was baptised on Wednesday June 28th at 11:20 in my Greenlight District t-shirt. I saw a lot of old friends and made some new ones and I'm totally going to go back next year, and as a camper. I'll keep going as a camper til they force me to be a counselor. The Pictures

I also have to give the lesson for Wednesday night, everything moves so fast! Speech and Debate taught me one thing, though, and that is hurry yp and get a first draft out *before* you procrastinate. AFter you have the raw materials you're much safer to relax and think

--Today--

Got up early to get my mom to work so that I could go get my senior pictures taken. AFter dropping her off I got an Eye Opener at Java City, went to Wild Bill's PAwn and checked out the shexy guitars, and went to WalMart and got two 10 cent notebooks.

It's amazing how everything mellows when you drink that much caffeine off the bat. I was so inspired that I wrote

It's a funny thing about early mornings. You get up to do one thing at about 7:30 and afterwards it's all just time. You get a cup of coffee, a shot of espresso in that please, and drink it down on an empty stomach.

You walk around through the small shops with their sleep owners, existing but not really belonging. You walk outside and the warm summer wind rises just as teh caffeine hits your bloodstream, turning the worldd below you into a haze of warm reds, oranges, and browns winding around your ankles like the cat before you feed him.

It's only a moment, then it's past. The next thing you're Wal-Mart, sipppin a likewarm JAva-City Eye Opener, not so much watching the aisles you're strolling through, but rather watching the people, bleary-eyed and miserable, wrapped up in themselves like the little packages on the shelves.

One single mother, forty dollar value, can do dishes and clothes at teh same time! Botus items: two hollow-eyed children indistinguishable from each other in their filthy shrunken clothes.

And here I am: sun-kissed skin and a pair of ten cent notebooks clutched in my hand, cheap sunglasses, and a peaceful smile. I stand there, like the strange item you always find on the clearance shelves, no description, just a stikc-on, marked down price tag, one more piece of merchandise free from its packaging, nakedd to constraint and vanity.

And I couldn't be happier.
Do me one favor. Just drive with the window down and I'll blow blow away.

The senior pics took about an hour and a half of me changing and posing like some oversized doll. Erin even showed up and I found it much easier to smile naturally with her around :).
I hope they turned out well. Everyone seemed really suprised about how I looked in my black and gold suit combo... idk what the deal is.

I also went to Record Guys today and picked up cassettes as follows: Social Distortion- Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, Alice in Chains- Dirt, and Iron Maiden- Live After Death.
So now I have a lot more music, not to mention the Smashing Pumpkins- Machina II album that JEssica helped me download and let me borrow her flash drive for. It's good, look it up because it's a *FREE* download. It was their last album before they broke up and so they made it open bootleg to screw over the record company.

S'about it

update

Went to the show last night. Eric's band, Chuck Norris, and The Drake's Descent (yes, that's THREE different bands), were on. However, a storm blew in something fierce and I had to go before T.D.D got to play :(. The only difference between Eric's band playing punk and playing hardcore was that instead of just sucking, they sucked hardcore. Chuck Norris wasn't bad
Everyone and their grandmother was out there. A guy who used to go to my church, Kyle, Ashley, Jill, Donna, Justin and Jesus, Alonso and company, etc. twas crazy. Just sda that I didn't get to stay

yeah, not much going on since. I just watched Stargate and played Champions of Norrath today. Right now I'm drinking some of the tea Erin gave me for our anniversary. I think I brewed it a trifle strong, because at this point it's stickign to my teeth like coffee.

Anyhow, back to studying, and maybe more Stargate later. It's going to be at LEAST another hour and a half before I go to sleep, but I am SOOO bored.

AP test Monday for Physics. After the U.S. History test blew due mostly to the fact that our teacher is an incompetent ingnoramous who couldn't pass his own class, I don't fear the Physics B test as much, though it is purportedly the hardest of them all.

Today's quote:
"Emotional problems don't have logical solutions!"
"Mine do. Everyone else just needs to get with the program."

Excerpts

Yes, the previous entry was from Sunday night, however Livejournal's been in a pissy mood lately.

Anyhow, I've decided to start taking a personal hardcopy journal for my own thoughts and experiences so that I stop leaving so much out and depending so much on my memory after several excited conversations. So yeah, now I think this is going to be a gathering of my "excerpts". So I'm starting to consider changing the title to this blog, what do you guys think it should become?

So here come some excerpts:

*5.2.06* -5:20 P.M.-
I've been thinking a lot about what my goal in life really is. Erin says her goal is to be happy. When I ask ehr what that means she says that to her it is to be a wife and a mother. I'm pretty sue I want that kind of life for myself, eventually. For now, it seems to me that being happy is really a smaller piece than that. To wish simply for happiness seems a selfish goal, fulfilling only your personal need.

If you were to ask a child what their goal is, they's tell you they want ot be a n athelte, astronaut, or even teh first woman president. A child's mind reaches for their brightest start, whatever it may be. It usually is ceneter aroudn doing something great. So is the desire for greatness inherently selfish? I would think not, to be great is to affect others, and a child wants to fisx things to the way they see the world, to paint the glittering colors seen to their own eyes only.

As we grow the idea becomes less and less about what we can be, but rather what we can't be. When I was in the seventh grade I had a teacher who once told me that I was a problem, becuase I thought I was smarter than anyone else, that there were many kids smarter than I. Many people face the idea that they are simply not good enough to fufuill themselves, they they should be content with comfort and subistence.

Emerson said, "A man is a god in ruins", a concept in line with Nietzsche's superman. I would proudly contend that children are the building blocks to this ideal. A common, average, unhappy man is simply a great man who has found reason to disbelieve his own greatness, a block of potential worn by erosion of the soul.

I resolve to be that person who believes only the trusth. While even [others tell] me what I can and can't do, what I do and don't want, I will never give up on myself.

*5.3.06* -7:26 A.M.-
...My main thoughts in connection to Hemingway stem mainly wiht my personal impressions into his worth... his position as the great American novelist raises the question: if I do not truly like Hemingway's tale, is it a flaw in myself or a flaw in teh work? Is popular opinion, even aged and entrenched, truly correct? Perhpas I have simply failed to understand the depth of the writing.

-9:30 AM-
How much may a person who one had never met indirectly affect them? Take for example myself: I find that the more I read Emerson, teh more he parallels the spirit that I find myself possessed of. is my personal view unique, gathered from my own thoughts and experiences? IT seems extremely likely that Emerson's ideals sunk inot the American intellectual mind, a sort of group knowledge passed on by everyday contact with those surrounding us, was passed on from him to another etc. until it reached those directly incontact with me.

We underestimate the power of an individual to create a movement, to change thought. The ripples of our actions do spread widely, expanding outward. I have had the experience of coming up with an original idea or saying that I mention to others and have it repeated to me months later by a stranger. Either many of our thoughts and experiences are teh same, such as the dual discovery of Calculus by Newton and a contemporary, or that our society's fabric is much like the acoustics of an oddly shaped opera hall in which a loud enough shout or even a whisper in the right direction may reverberate throughout every scant inch of the room and back to the ear of the speaker.

Anyways, more than enough typing for one night

This week starts the beginning of my summer freedom.

And Erin asked to become a member of the church this morning, and we had a double baptism of a daughter and her father, it was a good morning, but we've got people who are sick and so many funerals to go to lately it's obscene. My grandfather called today all the way from North Carolina and mentioned how sorry he was for Theresa being taken so soon from us. It meant something to me to actually have someone say something that actually was genuine.

Anyhow, updates later. TTYL *sUx0r5*

Theresa

I know it may be old news to some of you, due to the fact that most anyone who reads my entries is someone I know in real life, but my friend Theresa died last night in a head on collision. She will be sorely missed, and I don't think she ever knew how much. Here's to a good friend, one of us who died young and for no good reason.

We'll say a few gallows jokes involving baby eating for you, Theresa, because I know the last thing you would have wanted us to do would be forgetting just how you were in real life, the first person to recognize humor despite its situation and know how to enjoy it.

Here's to you Theresa... Your Spirit's still alive.

We are the ones who will never be broken
We are the ones who survive
This is the sound that brings us together
You are the one by our side

[Chorus:]
And through it all, the spirit's alive
And through it all, your spirit's alive

You are the memory that lives on forever
The shadow that stands by our side
This is the sound that keeps us together
We are the ones who survive

It's simply not fair, and it doesn't make sense that you've been taken from us so soon. All we can ask is Why?

V is for...

Saw V for Vendetta with Erin. twas fantastic, but first we tried to get lunch at Chick-fil-A with our free coupons.

The plan backfired.

The two free sandwich coupons ended up being one free sandwich coupon, and one free kid's meal with purchase. Basically, Erin ordered first and came back with drinks and fries, and then I had to go up there with the kids meal, and realized that we had to get a combo. Consequence? 4 orders of fries, 4 drinks, two sandwiches and a kid's meal chicken nuggets...

Anyways, V for Vendetta is t3h awesome.

and I have ridiculous amounts of homework. But, I will try in the future to start updating more wiht longer entries as well, because what's the point of Livejournal if you never put anything in it?

~Trey~

Exhaustion

I have, after long hours spent slaving over a words processor and various books and packets of information, managed to create a passable rough draft for Mrs. McKinney this morning (considering this is being written at 12:36). I think it turned out well, and I have a few questions. I also hope she doesn't rip it to shreds being as I HAVE invested a lot of time and thought into its production.

Dear GOD this has to be the most I have EVER written on any subject. *faint*
--There's one less mountain.
--many more molehills to go.
--fatigue and triumph.

*mad haiku skillz*

Gackt pwnz.
all I will say on JRock

--edit--
actually, I will not stop there. I was just watching a fan video of one of his tours where he actually *blacks out* while in mid song, but plays it off like he fells, a little later he drops to his knees exhausted, and still gets back up and tries to get everything going again.
The music's worth getting ahold of, but I'm more than impressed with his performance

Alas, stranded at the library working on my research paper. I'll probably try and use a phone sometime soon to call my mom. ATM, however, I'm enjoying the awesome bandwidth at the library.

Anyways, turns out that I have a 34 dollar fine over here. They swear that the book Jessica turned in that was on my card is damaged, but we BOTH know that we did not damage it. Weird, eh?

TAKS today was decent. I did pretty well on the essay, I think. I enjoyed doing my take on it and the test had one question which caused me a lil trouble, but as always, there's probably two questions on the entire test worth my attention.

Also got my SAT scores in, they're pretty high, but not quite what I was hoping yet. My writing wasn't over the 700 goal as of yet. I'll see what I can do about that later.

Right now, though, I'll get back to work. I'm listening to radio free abattoir (www.radiofreeabattoir.com) it has some crazy awesome goth, industrial, and darkwave. Hey, they have Project Pitchfork, so I'm more than content. It helps spark my creative side.

I haven't eaten in awhile and I'm starving. Just thought I'd share.

Idk what to say. I had a long talk with my mom tonight. We worked out a lot of issues; it got rid of some tension between us. Lots of stuff to think about, lots of perceptions got sorted.

Anyways, renewed my license today... because Erin was and I realized that mine was only 5 months out of date... so no biggie.

Oh, and Erin's grounded, for going into Starbucks instead of the drive-thru (mostly my impression there), but hey, far be it for me to even consider stepping between her and her parents. Mostly because I can't be sure how much is perspective from both sides and I don't want to be sandwiched in an opinion landslide in the middle.

In other news, turns out Andy in my German class is quite a George Orwell fan, knows some decent music, and plays some fairly good games. Who'da thunk?

I'd love to use higher quality, but I don't have the space.

This has JUST occurred to me

I realized that Firefly isn't really all that amazingly original... it's a live action Outlaw Star... which, I might add, is my favorite anime of all time.

Think about it... even down to the girl in the box. WHY did I not make all the connections? I mean seriously... this is a personal record slow for me.

OMG!

I went to Erin's today after looking all over for a good Christmas present for her. I found Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas on DVD and got the original book for her as well.

Anyways, being as we don't know exactly when I'm leaving for North Carolina, we exchanged presents tonight.
Amazingly, Erin's grandparents and parents all got me christmas gifts. Her grandmother gave me a grab bag of all kinds of stuff (Handel CD, random cologne, etc. all fun stuff that I'd have to go back through to list), her parents got me House of Flying Daggers, and Erin got me a RCA Lyra mp3 player. Shock and awe folks. wow. It's just amazing and I'm soooo happy with it. It's just so much more than I ever could have asked for really. As an added bonus, even if its onboard memory may be a tad short for an mp3 player... it's got room for memory cards to expand the memory, so I'll be able to keep up my collection.

When you read this, THANK YOU SO MUCH ERIN! *squee*

In other news, my sister had a basketball tournament today, and her team did much better than they have all year. My sister got landed on though and now it looks like she might have messed up something in her hand. It's probably just a minor injury and she'll be back in no time.

I also had early practice, after which everyone was sitting on the benches looking at each other. Finally someone asks "sooo... are we going to leave or something?" and someone just slumps against a locker and says "Dude... don't start, because I'm not going to move" So yeah, it was hard, and I'm still sore, but I'm looking forward to a lil break for a week. I'll probably have to get up to run and work out to stay in form, but hey

In local music news, I'm listening to some stuff from Allegory. It's Cason's lil Christian metal band. It's not bad, being as Cason's a pretty good guitarist. Shame he never stuck with the band that we were both in, I would have loved to have kept playing guitar with him. (note to self: find the invain album and burn it to the Mp3 player)

Anyways, I need to go sleep, so I'll talk to ya'll later.
